Loving Lanvin 08

The consensus is in...the fall 08 accessories are fantastic and utterly outrageous...and I love that. Here are a few gems from Lanvin's fall collection that I thought were pretty groovy....There is an element to all these pieces that reminds me of NYC...it is undeniable the structural and architectural inspiration combined with a touch of an art deco element that these pieces demonstrate...all the more reason I dig them and hope you do too....enjoy

Ya Ya Yves

I am enduring a severe infatuation at the moment to Yves Saint Laurent's fall 08 chain and crystal necklaces and bracelets. There is a element of so called 'coolness' that I can only aspire to achieve someday that these models portray. The chain maille esqu quality of these pieces is a key ingredient in emanating the kick ass vibe that comes through when you hook the clasp behind your neck or your wrist. However, the blue crystal charms shown below add just the right dose of femininity that hits the nail on the head....only the master himself, Mr Yves Saint Laurent could manage to create such remarkable and unforgettable designs....

Dramatic Dries....

I cannot get over how utterly cool these pieces from the Dries Van Noten Fall 2008 collection are. Paring mega bangles in an eccentric array of colors, sizes, textures and shapes is a simplistic approach to inventive accessorizing....and I have some serious goo-goo-ga-ga eyes over all of these necklaces...I can only imagine the sweet sound that the the bangles make when they clang together with each step the lucky lady who wears these lovers takes...music to my ears...also major inspiration...

I Wah Wah Wonder Where Wendy Has Been....

Welcome to the wonderful world of Wendy Mink....based in Tribeca surrounded by an obviously fantastic team of jewelry artisans, Wendy's collections come to life. Inspired by her early appreciation for Victorian jewels, flea market finds and an ever growing personal collection, her source of inspiration hits close to home. I am infatuated with organic, easy going vibe that her work evokes...The bracelet above may take the cake in my eyes for my fav...I think the sharp contrast between the turquoise, agate and crystals is soothing. Despite the bulk of the dangling semi precious stones, the open 22k gold vermeil chain is a great companion for these gems...yet another ironic combination that is beautiful...coming in a very close second place for my affection are the vintage yellow resin drop earrings...All in all, I think I could easily sport any of Mink's creations and be a happy chic.

Ring Around The Rosie....Pocket Full of Posies...

Not one to beat around the bush, but I love statement rings...I mean, I just go gaga for large and in charge rings...Sidebar...I pity the man who I actually end up hooking that has to find me a giant rock...boy oh boy does he have a task ahead of himself! Anyways, that's besides the point! Point is look at these gems! I'm almost at a loss for words and all my brain can manage to communicate with my fingers is AWESOME! Inspired by natural and organic shapes, self taught jewelery designer Christa Reniers has managed to create quite the name for herself in her hometown of Brussels. All creations are crafted from the finest materials and have a unique, one of a kind feel to them....Just right if you ask me...

Obessed, Inspired and In love....

Ironic Eye Candy...

Venusain Coin Necklace
You know, when I first discovered Jalea Jalea by browsing one of my favorite daily reads, Oh Joy! I was a bit on the fence about the subjects of her work...but after analyzing them and breaking my perspective down a bit, I am totally digging the subtle metaphors that are sent when sporting one of these necklaces. From hearts with an arrow pericing through them (please do not forget the ever noticeable symbolic red color of said heart) to a silhouette of a nerve cell. Call me crazy but I have a hunch that designer Tatiana Sánchez was aiming to remind people to stay in tune to themselves and their body....I don't know, I could be wrong but that is what I gathered. I think the heart cameo shown below is hysterically ironic...forget wearing your heart on your sleeve, how about you wear it on a chunky chain around your neck, you'd be sure to remember where it was now wouldn't you? All in all, her work is beautiful and I would definitely let one of these darlings hang around my neck.....

Only Time Will Tell...

I'm on a kick for leather cuffs and the rugged feel from my accessories at the moment and this watch definitely fit the mold. I have never really been a chick to sport a watch, more the person with one too many bangles on my wrists who you can hear before you see if you catch my drift. Anyways, this watch, for lack of a better adjective rocks! I love the subtle digital clock on the buckle. Only Mr. Marc Jacobs would've come up with this little gem....
Note to self...add Marc Jacobs watch to x-mas list stat....

Ok kids, here is the latest and greatest find…Kris Nations…originally from El Paso, Texas. I’m totally digging the obvious inspiration from her southwestern background. My personal favorite is the Texas pendant…I like the quirkiness of it. The combination of fine gauged wire and the contrast colors are spot on and somewhat suggest a vintage persona of hippies that rocked out before our time.

In her own words…"When you combine high quality gemstones, sterling silver, gold and other distinctive materials to a funky or whimsical idea, it turns into an elegant and sophisticated piece that is both timeless and unique."

Right on….
