Hmm....

Alright friends, here is yet another wacky and somewhat out there post.... check out these vertical halo like face frames that were seen on the Chanel Fall 08 runway! I mean, I'm all for calling attention to your face, but these take the term 'face frame' to a whole new level! I send my praise to the extraordinarily talented Mr. Lagerfield for these gadgets. As I have been preaching for ages, I think it's fantastic to embrace your creativity, originality and diversity through your personal style and I would say these items are spot on for that. So who is going to put their name on a list for one of these gems? I personally dig the square ones....

Orbit..

Wow! Check out this ‘necklace’ from couture designer Anne ValĂ©rie Hash. Resembling rather a jugular can opener slash neck sculpture than a necklace, I had to share this piece because of the sheer amount of creativity that was put forth. Let’s get real, this isn’t exactly your ‘go to’ necklace that ‘will go with everything’ now is it? That right there my friends is the exact reason for something so outrageous now isn’t it? Embrace your eccentricity and rock it out….

Groovy Baby....

How jazzy is this acrylic bangle from Fendi? Airing on the uber sleek and somewhat futuristic side, this cuff has an alluring aspect about it that just makes me want to rock it out. I'm loving the negative spaces that are created by the silver F-E-N-D-I....that and it would look fantastic against a fresh summer tan don't' you think?

Ga Ga for Givenchy....

These pieces by Givenchy for the Fall 08 collection may channel Mr. T a bit too close for comfort....I love them nonetheless. I have a certain infatuation with crosses...and a giant collection (look for an upcoming post!!) from all over the world that I've been gathering for years....that plays a part in my fondness for Riccardo Tisci's collection...I like the slight hint of a religious undertone these pieces portray...minorly controversial for such a politically correct society we live in now which is one of the most exciting elements of design. And of course I had to include the giant heart shaped brooch! I feel that brooches should make a comeback...and what better way to reinstate a somewhat old fashion item of jewelry than with a rocking heart....right on!

The Bold and The Beautiful

Yet another entry about the Fall 08 collections…under examination, excuse me…I meant up for praise is Burberry Prorsum. I can’t decide which piece is my favorite…it’s a close contest between the spiked cuff and fringed bracelet. The cuff just rocks hands down…I think it gets the bid for my current obsession. I am also really feeling the extreme length of the necklaces designer Christopher Bailey showed…a subtle detail yet such a significant impact it makes. I personally can’t wait to see how all the wonderfully fabulous women of NYC interpret this trend of bold accessorizing this fall…stay tuned for more audacious pieces that I think fit the bill…..

Swing Swing

Ah, how great is this necklace?! Definitely reminds me of sweet and innocent summers spent on my swing set with friends...and also serves as a friendly reminder to stay young and carefree! I found this little gem through a recently stumbling upon this great blog, Stylings And So On and So Forth.

Loving Lanvin 08

The consensus is in...the fall 08 accessories are fantastic and utterly outrageous...and I love that. Here are a few gems from Lanvin's fall collection that I thought were pretty groovy....There is an element to all these pieces that reminds me of NYC...it is undeniable the structural and architectural inspiration combined with a touch of an art deco element that these pieces demonstrate...all the more reason I dig them and hope you do too....enjoy

Ya Ya Yves

I am enduring a severe infatuation at the moment to Yves Saint Laurent's fall 08 chain and crystal necklaces and bracelets. There is a element of so called 'coolness' that I can only aspire to achieve someday that these models portray. The chain maille esqu quality of these pieces is a key ingredient in emanating the kick ass vibe that comes through when you hook the clasp behind your neck or your wrist. However, the blue crystal charms shown below add just the right dose of femininity that hits the nail on the head....only the master himself, Mr Yves Saint Laurent could manage to create such remarkable and unforgettable designs....

Dramatic Dries....

I cannot get over how utterly cool these pieces from the Dries Van Noten Fall 2008 collection are. Paring mega bangles in an eccentric array of colors, sizes, textures and shapes is a simplistic approach to inventive accessorizing....and I have some serious goo-goo-ga-ga eyes over all of these necklaces...I can only imagine the sweet sound that the the bangles make when they clang together with each step the lucky lady who wears these lovers takes...music to my ears...also major inspiration...

I Wah Wah Wonder Where Wendy Has Been....

Welcome to the wonderful world of Wendy Mink....based in Tribeca surrounded by an obviously fantastic team of jewelry artisans, Wendy's collections come to life. Inspired by her early appreciation for Victorian jewels, flea market finds and an ever growing personal collection, her source of inspiration hits close to home. I am infatuated with organic, easy going vibe that her work evokes...The bracelet above may take the cake in my eyes for my fav...I think the sharp contrast between the turquoise, agate and crystals is soothing. Despite the bulk of the dangling semi precious stones, the open 22k gold vermeil chain is a great companion for these gems...yet another ironic combination that is beautiful...coming in a very close second place for my affection are the vintage yellow resin drop earrings...All in all, I think I could easily sport any of Mink's creations and be a happy chic.
