All In The Details....Part III: Christian Lacroix

Well if there was ever a doubt in your mind that the Couture Shows would be less than a stellar amusement, I do believe that Christian Lacroix could prove a doubter wrong. Ever the master of layers and excess, this SP 09 collection continues the trends through multiple layers of transparent fabrics. The colors tend to look a little bit like a circus gone wrong on some of the looks, but I really dig the solid gowns. The light colored patterned tights are a subtle but significant addition to the looks. Of course my favorite idea to take away from this collection is the layering of multiple outrageous necklaces and giant earrings. This is a trend we can all follow! All in all, this collection was fun to look and wildly entertaining as all couture shows should be. Enjoy!

All In The Detials....Part II: Valentino

For part two of the Couture Show recap I choose Valentino. I’m infatuated with a multitude of elements from the entire collection that I don’t know where to begin! First and foremost, the color palette was a fantastic medley of jewel tones that evoked a richness only achievable by one of the greats. From the accordion pleats to intense folds of the dresses, the intense details are quite amazing. In addition to the clothing, I’m particularly smitten with the styling of the models…the slicked back hair creates a great canvas for the artfully crafted eye shadow. The overall tone of femininity was successfully executed and I cannot wait for next seasons collection….
