Ralph Lauren...

For those of you lucky people out there that I call a friend, this will not be news to you...to those of you just I do not know, I have a confession....I have a wicked passion for Ralph Lauren Collection. I do not remember when it struck, but quite some time ago, I just fell for all things Ralph Lauren....from the aesthetic to the color palette each season to the lifestyle evoked by the clothing, it all just struck a cord in me. It was then I made it a life long goal to work for this design giant I held on such a high pedestal. Little did I know that this goal would become a reality sooner than later as I now work for this wonderful company and I couldn't be more stoked. That being said, I wanted to share the latest and greatest for Spring 09....Because I'm more of the casual gal, I really loved this collection. The Moroccan vibe felt right for Spring...from the cargo pants to weathered button up shirts, the casual elegance of the evening wear to the simple layering of belts and cargo bags I think it is quite nice. The turbans may have crossed the line in my book, but we all need a little jazz on the runway now don't we? All in all, I say well done Mr. Lauren and that we all look forward to many inspirational seasons to come....

A Shoe In...

After browsing some of the Spring 2009 collections, I feel head over heals (no pun indented) with these gems from Phillip Lim....Always a fan of a unique twist to accessorizing, these stunners rack up my key ingredients to being fabulous....
1. Eccentric
2. Feminine
3. Color
4. Sexy

NYC Fashion Week...

For the fashion lovers who live in New York, one could say that it seems like Christmas comes twice a year...lasts for nearly a week nonetheless....and one of those weeks was lasts week!! The atmosphere in this city on a normal day is incredibly infectious and vivacious but take hold when the tents are set up and the shows are in full force in Bryant Park....That being said, I know I have been incredibly slack lately keeping up on my posts but I am going to do my best to share some of my favorite finds and looks for Spring 2009. Here are few details from the shows that I was drooling over....stay tuned for more favs....
Ah, seems to me that Mr. Timberlake’s ambition has lead him in a good direction here with the line he partners with Trace Ayala. In my opinion, their runway debut hit the nail on the head….or brass stud shall we say? I am 100% smitten with the image of their girl…she possess the edge that some of us so desperately wish we could pull off. The fringe, cut off and rocker chick jackets are a hit in my book….fingers crossed for bigger and better things from this line…..

Take Me Back....

Hi!! Sorry for the delay on the posts! I've been out of town for a little while but back in the city and back to it! I've been increasingly smitten with the vintage photos as of lately and here are a few of my favorites from one of the great innovators of fashion photography, Norman Parkinson. His well known presence through the pre-war era until the 1980s does not go unrecognized but photography enthusiasts! I especially love the wit, vitality and slight drama that is evoked through his work. Always pushing the boundaries, Parkinson will be remembered and mimicked for quite some time.
