Ah ha!

I came across these pretty little somethings and wanted to share....I guess they are not so little taking into consideration the size of these chunky agates, regardless they are smashing! By Tory Burch, these sliced agates have a natural earthy feel that evokes the nonchalance of summer...I'm pretty smitten with the sizable cuff...how great would that look next to a tan?

How spectacular is this necklace?!! Fits all my criteria for a fabulous necklace…

1. Unique…this is definitely not your average ‘nameplate’ collier
2. CHUNKY…large and in charge thank you very much
3. Has a sentimental meaning behind it.

So this nugget of beauty was created by Sara Van Gameren for a young girl who was intrigued by her family tree. After research of her genealogical tree, this masterpiece was created. It was designed with the placement of her ancestors near her chest and her closer family nearer her neck. Van Gameren refers to this necklace as a “genetic palette”. I especially love the delicate piercing between the script of the letters and the negative spaces that are created throughout. Thoughts?

Tough Love...

Came across this rocking chunky heart ring and all I have to say is that I'm all for tough love. Totally digging the contrast between the smooth silver and the fine gold wire. I've always been a fan of the shapes that twisting, turning and smashing wire creates and the somewhat unsteady feeling it puts off. I found this little lover while browsing today, it's by Mesh NY...a lovely company that has perfected the art of wrapping and weaving intricate pieces that are popping up all over...
I do not know if everyone would interpret their jewels to have a meaning, but for us die hard jewelry lovers this is what we do. This ring reminds me of many things....be strong when dealing with the heart at first but you eventually have to let the guard down and go for it. I also think that this piece could show that there are so many different little areas of the heart and that it there are certain times when to open them or close them. Read it how you will but these are just a few of my thoughts...

As we all know, I'm in the middle of a serious infatuation with the tribal trend that is taking over summer 2008. I feel like I've been struck with the sudden urge to go on a wild African Safari with all the feathers, giant wooden beads and fabulous natural stones combined with hint of street cred.
I recently stumbled upon this utterly intoxicating red plumed necklace...with the right touch of chunky turquoise beads (my personal fav color combo, turq and red) and was head over heals in love. Designed by Dori Csengeri, who has a very interesting and right on motto backing her work...“While designing, I visualize the woman who will wear my work. She has a defined taste and personality. I try to create for her something different, fresh and exciting, so she can play the game of fashion with me and participate in the creation of her own image.”
Well Dori, I think that you and I are going to be great friends because I am on a fast track to creating something fresh and exciting all my own and playing the game of fashion is one of my favorite pastimes....so keep it up Miss Csengeri and I'll see you out on the field...

Submerse Yourself at Target

As promised, the wonderful Justin Giunta has developed a diffusion line of his vintage inspired necklaces (that I think resemble works of art) for our favorite mass market retailer, Target...I've been in love with his Subversive line from day one but these pieces for Target are just as great! I think I'll take one of each!

On The Fringe...

I have been enamored with the bohemian trend that is sweeping the stores this spring and came across a few necklaces that I think are pretty groovy. I especially love the native feeling these pieces evoke....and they wouldn't look too shabby with a tight tank and jeans...

Sweet Summer...

Can't you just imagine the sweet sounds that this innocent bracelet by Gucci would make clanking around your wrist? The malachite, tiger's eye sugillate and enamel etched disks will also look smashing against a fresh tan don't you think?

On Tribal Trend

I came across these two tribal inspired silk necklaces from Eli Tahari that I fell in love with on the spot. Being the type that loves an eye catching necklace, giant bangle or an over the top cocktail ring, I am obsessed with all the tribal trends that are out right now. The chunky pieces are right up my alley. I will surely be adding to this post, so keep your eye's peeled...
